'Francona: The Red Sox Years' debuts on best-sellers list this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, there are two new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Private Berlin" by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan replaced "A Memory of Light" by Robert Jordan as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Moonlight Masquerade" by Jude Deveraux replaced "Odd Interlude" by Dean Koontz as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

"Shred: The Revolutionary Diet: 6 Weeks 4 Inches 2 Sizes" by Ian K. Smith remained the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the fourth straight week.

"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander remained the No. 1 book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the ninth week in a row.

There were three books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Private Berlin" by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan (1), "Suspect" by Robert Crais (3) and "Ever After" by Kim Harrison (5).

There were four books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Francona: The Red Sox Years" by Terry Francona and Dan Shaughnessy (3), "The 4-Hour Chef: The Simple Path to Cooking Like a Pro, Learn Anything, and Living the Good Life" by Timothy Ferriss (8), "To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others' by Daniel H. Pink (14) and "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young (15).

There were two books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Moonlight Masquerade" by Jude Deveraux (1) and "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult (2).

There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "The Money Code: Improve Your Entire Financial Life Right Now" by Joe Duran (6) and "The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America's Future" by Jonathan Cahn (13).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
