Aggies Play Miller In Brewton Friday Night: The Evergreen Aggies will trip to Brewton tomorrow (Friday) night for a pair of games with T.R. Miller High in the new municipal gymnasium. The “B” teams of the schools get together at 7 o’clock with the varsity clash to follow.
It will be the second meeting of the season for the two teams. Coach Hal Wyatt’s Tigers edged the Aggie cagers 50-44 in a thriller here three weeks ago. Miller has lost but one game this season and that was a two-point decision to the powerful Monroeville five.
The Aggies will try to put forward Jerry Wood in chains Friday night as that seems to be the key to tripping their arch rivals. In the game here, Wood tossed 18 points through the buckets. Also slated to be kept under close guard is Bobby Long who bagged 16 points in the first meeting of the teams.
Coach Wendell Hart’s Aggies have flashed good form in games of late. In most of their losses since Christmas, the Aggies have played well with the exception of one quarter, but their play has been so loose in that one quarter that victory was impossible.
Leading the Aggies in point production are Gwyn Daniels and Billy Mudge Lee. Both do most of their scoring from short range with one-handed set shots. Lee did not play in the first Miller game and with him the Aggies hope to come home with a win Friday.

Monroeville Cagers Whip Evergreen Aggies 54-38: The Evergreen Aggies ran into a red-hot Monroe County High quint last Friday night in Monroeville and came out on the short end of a 54-38 count.
Lee with 15 and Gwyn Daniels with 13 points led Evergreen. Jeff Moorer and Gillis Morgan had four each and Ed Hooks two. Jackson bagged 16 to pace the Tigers.

BELLEVILLE DEFEATS LENOX: Belleville defeated Lenox by a score of 25 to 10, for the third time this season, when Lenox met Belleville on Belleville’s court for one of the most interesting games yet witnessed on her court.
The game began as a one-sided affair and it was never doubted who would be the winners. Lenox came to Belleville with the full intention of carrying the larger portion of the score back with them, but the irresistible wall proved too strong for the visitors and, as twice before, they had to submit to defeat.
Both teams are to be congratulated for their good play and fair sportsmanship. The game was one of the cleanest Belleville or Lenox has participated in this season and much pleasure was derived from the game by both players and side-liners.
Belleville did the smoothest playing she has ever done, pass work being almost perfect. The visitors only gained one shot at the basket due to Belleville’s over-guarding. Belleville got four shots at the basket and made three count.
Lenox’s loss to Belleville marked her first defeat of the tournament whereas Belleville still faces the music with a clean record. Belleville’s “Swift Moving Six” is the only team in the county that hasn’t been defeated this season.
The next game will be on Belleville’s court with Fairnelson.
Jr. High also meets Lenox on Belleville’s court. There will be a game between both boys and girls of both schools.
The contest between Belleville and Lenox was refereed by Miss Grant of Repton High School and she is expected to officiate for Belleville-Fairnelson.
