St. Clair County, Ala. |
Today marks the second Thursday of the month, so this week
I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month,
courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network. A search for UFO reports in Alabama between
July 1 and July 31 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in three reports
from within our state during that time.
The first two incidents took place on Wed., July 4. The
first occurred at 8:45 p.m. in Pell City, a city of about 13,000 in St. Clair
County. The witness in this case said he saw two objects in the sky over a lake
where he’d gone to watch fireworks. He said that even though it was the Fourth
of July, he knew that the objects were nothing made by human hands.
The objects first appeared about 15 minutes before any
fireworks and were visible in the sky over the lake for three to four minutes
before they flew “fast into the clouds.” The witness, who is 55 years old,
described the incident as “very strange” and noted that he’d never seen anything
like it in his entire life.
The second incident occurred later that night at 10:59 p.m.
in Madison, a city of about 43,000 in North Alabama, not far from the Tennessee
state line. The witness in this case said that he works out of state and
periodically checks the alarm system on his house by looking at surveillance
camera footage through an app on his phone. On July 4, he got a notice on his
phone saying he had a visitor at home and when he pulled up his doorbell
camera, he saw something very strange.
The witness posted two videos from the doorbell camera along
with his report, and that footage shows a very odd-looking ball of light on his
porch. The light, which comes from no visible source, seems to wander around at
varying speeds, just a few inches off the surface of his porch. The witness
said he has no idea what the object is, but “it is strange no doubt.”
The third incident took place on July 25 around 3 a.m. in
Sumiton, a city of around 2,500 residents that sits on the border between
Jefferson and Walker counties. The witness in this case was outside with his
telescope and noticed something unusual in the direction of the moon.
This witness also posted video footage of the UFO with his
report, and it was very strange. In the video, you can see a tree in the
distance and the moon in the sky overhead. Between the witness and the tree,
there’s an unusual ball of light that seems to come from no visible source. The
witness noted that he was alone during the incident and grew “scared” by what
he was seeing. He did continue to video the object until he lost sight of it.
Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out
there again that I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has
witnessed a UFO, especially in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people
would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your
report anonymously.
