“The Evergreen Aggies were back in the win column this week with a 25 to 13 decision over winless W.S. Neal of East Brewton.
“The entire line turned in good play. Alt. Capt. Shirley Frazier, Bud Ward, Sam Cope, Wayne Douglas, Paul Hanks, Bill Robinson, Richard Taylor, Joe Stowers, Wayne Bell and Buck Lewis were the boys who were throwing the blocks and stopping the Neal runners. Cope and Taylor teamed to open some especially wide holes between their guard and tackle spots that afforded long gains all night.
“Ward Alexander Jr. had himself quite a night and proved that with just a little blocking he can really pick up the yards. Running 24 times from scrimmage he netted 151 yards to average better than six yards per try. Alt. Capt. Frazier turned in his usual fine play. He picked up 15 yards on three end arounds and caught two passes for 24 yards.”

“Coach Julian Moore’s Lyeffion Yellow Jackets will be out to bring their gridiron record up to the .500 mark when they meet Coffeeville tonight. The Jackets have lost to Excel and Repton, last Thursday night, 18-0, and defeated Beatrice.
“Not much is known of the Coffeeville team, but the Jackets expect to have their hands full. The Lyeffion Club made a very creditable showing against Repton last week and with improvement may be able to come up with a victory tonight.
“The game will be played in Brooks Stadium at Evergreen High School. Next Thursday night Lyeffion Will play Uriah at Brooks Stadium.”
