Witness reported seeing UFO in Pine Apple on this day 16 years ago

Today – March 7 – marks the 16th anniversary of one of the most unusual UFO incidents in Wilcox County history. It was on this day in 2002 that witnesses in Pine Apple reported seeing an unidentified flying object and reported it to authorities.

The best source of information about this incident are the series of reports filed about it with the Mutual UFO Network, an organization that investigates alleged UFO sightings worldwide. According to the witness who filed these reports, the incident took place around 7 a.m. while he and other family members were loading a motorhome before leaving on a short vacation. The witness was handing something to someone on top of the motorhome when he looked up and saw a “saucer-like object” in the sky.

The witness said he got a good look at the strange object and noticed that it had what appeared to be a “small cone tower” on top of it. As he watched, the object flew in a long, turning curve toward the southwest, which allowed the witness to see the top of the cone. The object was a “brilliant” and “bright” bluish-green color, the witness reported.

“It was making a slight circular pattern” and “tilted as if it were going to the left,” the witness said. The object eventually disappeared, but the witness said he got a good, solid look at it for at least two seconds.

The witness noted that he had a hard time telling how big the object was because the early morning skies were clear and there were no objects, like clouds, in the background to provide any scale. The witness also noted that his son-in-law had just started the motorhome to run the air-conditioner, so he was unable to hear any noise coming from the object in the sky.

Interestingly, this Wilcox County UFO report was one of three other reported UFO sightings in Alabama during the month of March 2002. Just two days later, on March 9, a witness near Guntersville reported seeing three groups of shiny, flying orbs or spheres around 4:30 p.m. Few details remain available about that incident, but much more is known about another UFO incident that took place on March 25, 2002 in Alabama.

The witness in the March 25 case reported seeing a blue, disc-like object outside his Pell City home around 11 p.m. A few seconds before, he’d seen a plane fly over, and he initially thought that the disc-like object was another plane. However, the disc-shaped object was flying in the opposite direction and eventually stopped and began to hover, the witness said.

The witness said this strange object had “pulsating lights” and even remained visible after another plane flew by overhead. Eventually, the disc-shaped object “just vanished in thin air,” the witness reported.

In the end, one is left to wonder if these three strange incidents are connected somehow. I guess it’s impossible to really say for sure, but it is food for thought. With that said, if anyone in the reading audience has a local UFO story they’d like to share, please let me know. If you saw something out of the ordinary, chances are pretty even that someone else may have saw it too, and it would be interesting to compare notes.
