'Bright, red light' photographed in Huntsville. |
Today marks the first Friday of the month, so today I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month,
courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network. A search for UFO reports in Alabama between
Aug. 1 and Aug. 31 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in three reports
from within our state during that time.
The first incident occurred on Tues., Aug. 14, at 1:15 a.m.
in Valley, which is in Chambers County, on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The
witness in this case reported seeing a star-like, pulsating object in the
southern sky that “wobbled” in place for a long time. The sky was mostly clear,
but several times light clouds did obstruct his view for a few seconds.
At first, the witness though the object was a bright star,
but he knew it was something out of the ordinary when he saw it move “wildly
left and right or up and down.” He also saw small, faintly lit “orbs” of light
coming from the larger object, and he said that the orbs traveled in a straight
line “very quickly” from the center of the object.
The second incident also occurred on Aug. 14, but later in
the day, around 8:26 p.m. in Centre, which is in Cherokee County, which also
sits on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The witness in this case was standing
on the sidewalk outside their residence when he looked up and noticed an
unusual light approaching from the east. He said the light “flashed and
pulsated” with a white light.
The witnessed filmed the object with a digital camera, and when
he watched the footage, he realized that the object was rotating. He also
noticed that there was one big light in the middle of the object and two
smaller lights on the top and bottom of the object. It also appeared to fly in
an upright, vertical position, he said.
This witness also noted that other relatives saw this object
and that his wife grew uneasy and nauseous during the experiences. She
eventually had to go inside, he said.
The third incident took place on Tues., Aug. 21, around 4:30
a.m. in Huntsville, which is the third largest city in Alabama. The witness in
this case was taking his dog on an early morning walk when his dog “started
going nuts.” Seconds later, a “bright, red light” appeared and almost blinded
the witness. The dog continued “barking like mad,” the witness said.
This unusual red light pulsed, but didn’t really move, the
witness said. “It was just real bright and made a buzzing noise that gave me a
headache,” the witness said. After a few minutes, the light simply just
disappeared.
Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out
there again that I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has
witnessed a UFO, especially in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people
would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your
report anonymously.
