Last Saturday, I posted a recommended reading list recently compiled by Esquire Magazine called “The 75 Books Every Man Should Read.” I later learned that Esquire’s list sparked a list by Joyland Magazine called “250 Books By Women All Men Should Read.”From what I gather, Joyland compiled its list because’s Esquire’s list consisted of books that were written entirely by male authors, except for one, which was written by Flannery O’Connor. Joyland compiled its list over the Memorial Day weekend and it contains titles recommended by Joyland readers, editors and contributors. Many of the recommendations came via Facebook and Twitter.
