Miniature Golf Course Named ‘Jeff-Led Links’: As a result of the contest to secure a desirable name for the miniature golf course recently opened here, the name “Jeff-Led Links” was selected by the judges from among those submitted. Miss Nodie Gantt suggested the name that was selected and will be awarded a month’s pass to the course. Mrs. Eva Lockwood of St. Augustine, Fla., Mrs. Kerty Dunnan of Monroeville and Mrs. Robert Jones were the judges in the contest.
The management of the course is making preparations to stage a golf tournament to decide who are Evergreen’s best miniature golf players. The qualifying rounds will be played Thursday and continue through Thursday of next week. Everyone is privileged to enter and a record of all scores will be kept. For the lowest qualifying score for the week there will be a prize for both the ladies and men. Intentions of qualifying must be made before the player’s qualifying round is played. The entrance fee will be 50 cents for each entrant. There will be a grand prize each for the lady and the man and also a prize to the one making the best score in each flight.
