Tuskegee, Nared improve to
3-2: The Tuskegee Golden Tigers improved to 3-2 on the season Saturday with a
35-28 win over Fort Valley State University at Cleve L. Abbott Stadium in Tuskegee.
Tuskegee quarterback Justin
Nared completed three of eight pass attempts for 38 yards and an interception.
His longest pass of the day went for 19 yards, and Fort Valley didn’t record a
single sack against him the entire afternoon. Nared also ran the ball twice for
a one-yard gain.
Nared has played in all five
of Tuskegee’s games this season and has ran the ball 21 times for a 42-yard
gain and a touchdown. He has completed 32 of 61 passes for 471 yards and three
touchdowns against just one interception. His longest pass completion of the
season, so far, went for 87 yards.
Jags blast Excel in road
victory: Hillcrest High School picked up their first region win of the season
by beating Excel, 40-26, Friday night at Panther Stadium in Excel.

that game included Javarious Betts, Mikyle Dees, Latreal McCreary, Dalarrish
Richardson, Tyrell Riley and Keyshawn Roach.)
Sparta remains unbeaten in region play: Sparta Academy’s varsity football team improved to 5-1 on the season and to 3-0 in the region standings Friday night with a 41-30 win over region rival, Jackson Academy, at McCorquodale Stadium in Jackson.

Hillcrest defeats Clarke
County, still unbeaten: The Hillcrest High School Jaguars ran their record to
6-0 Friday night with a 33-6 win over the Clarke County High School Bulldogs in
Grove Hill.
Offensively, 11 men carried
the ball for Hillcrest, and they were led by Derrick Richardson with 72 yards
on 10 carries and Keith Richardson with 42 yards on only two carries.
Defensively… Russell Meeks
led the way once again with eight solos, two assists and two interceptions.
(Other top Hillcrest players
in that game included Calvin Fluker, Cecil Gill, Russell Hammonds, Spencer
Mixon, George Moncrease and Tyrone Sigler.)
Sparta spanks Stokes 42-24:
The Sparta Academy Warriors celebrated homecoming Friday night with a 42-24 win
over Stokes Academy of Pine Hill.
Jeff Brundage ran for two
touchdowns, and Tim Salter ran for one and passed for another to pace Sparta.
(Other top Sparta players in
that game included Jason Baker, Jeremy Baker, Craig Blackburn, Terry Conway,
Jerry Cotton, Steven Gall, Bryant Robinson and Richard Weaver. Chuck Ledbetter
was Sparta’s head coach.)

These Evergreen High Aggies will open a four-game home stand here Friday night with Greenville High’s Tigers. They are coached by John Law Robinson and Henry Allman. The Aggies are Arlie “Ace” Phillips, Ronnie Shaver, Brent Thornley, Tommy Hartley, Bob Tanner, Mike Moorer, Calvin Smith, Harold Hamiter, Johnny Huggins, Kenny Harper, Alvin Dees, Jimmy Ellis, Ronnie Hayes, Scott Cook, Van Davis, Truett Sims, Jimmy Warren, Mike Fields, Paul Deason and Wayne Tolbert.
Repton, Lyeffion in scoreless
tie: The underdog Lyeffion High Yellow Jackets battled to a scoreless tie with
the undefeated Repton Bulldogs on a very wet field in Repton Friday night. In
spite of the bad weather, a good crowd was on hand.
The battle was a defensive
duel all the way with Repton having the best of it in the statistics. The
Bulldogs penetrated as deep as the Lyeffion nine, but the Jackets held them
there. Lyeffion’s strongest drive carried down to the Repton 20. Repton piled
up 10 first downs to three for Lyeffion.

Inge’s complaint charged Trucks was in possession of an automobile stole from Mrs. Martha A. Frazer of Mobile when he was arrested Sunday at Alexandria, La. Mrs. Frazer said her car had been missing since Saturday night.
