Rowling's new book, 'The Cuckoo's Calling,' debuts at the top this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are two new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"The Cuckoo's Calling" by Robert Galbraith, a.k.a. J.K. Rowling, replaced "The English Girl" by Daniel Silva as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"The Casual Vacancy" by J.K. Rowling replaced "Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

"Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander" by Phil Robertson and Mark Schlabach retained the top spot on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the 12th straight week.

"Friends Forever: A Novel" by Danielle Steel remained the No. 1 book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the fourth straight week.

There were three books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list lat week. They (and their places on the list) included "The Cuckoo's Calling" by Robert Galbraith (1), "Light of the World: A Dave Robicheaux Novel" by James Lee Burke (8) and "The White Princess" by Philippa Gregory (10).

There were three books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Grumpy Cat" by Grumpy Cat (8), "The Sky: The Art of Final Fantasy" by Yoshitakan Amano and Carl Gustav Horn and Jemiah Jefferson (11) and "Shirley Jones: A Memoir" by Shirley Jones (14).

There were two books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "One Summer" by David Baldacci (14) and "World War Z" by Max Brooks (15).
