Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are two new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.
"W Is for Wasted" by Sue Grafton replaced "Never Go Back" by Lee Child as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list this week.
"The Racketeer" by John Grisham remained the No. 1 book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the second straight week.
There were five books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "W Is for Wasted" by Sue Grafton (1), "Second Watch" by J.A. Jance (6), "Robert B. Parker's Damned If You Do" by Michael Brandman (7), "Songs of Willow Frost" by Jamie Ford (12) and "Someone" by Alice McDermott (14).
There were seven books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Still Foolin' 'Em" by Billy Crystal (2), "Empty Mansion" by Bill Dedman (6), "Wilson" by A. Scott Berg (7), "Nothin' to Lost" by Ken Sharp (12), "You'll Get Through This" by Max Lucado (13), "The Shift" by Tory Johnson (14) and "Masterminds & Wingmen by Rosalind Wiseman (15).
There were two books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Collateral Damage" by (8) and "Tom Clancy's Endwar: The Missing" by Peter Telep (15).
There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Steve Jobs (movie tie-in)" by Walter Isaacson (8) and "Defending Jacob" by William Landay (12).
As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
