Alabama To Be Advertised At
Rose Bowl Game: Exuberant that the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide should
receive its fifth Rose Bowl invitation, Governor (Bibb) Graves, last week, immediately
launched a movement for preparation of leaflets advertising the state’s
advantages to be distributed among the 100,000 expected at Pasadena where the
Tide will meet the Golden Bears of California New Year’s Day.
The governor proposed that
every civic and local agency contribute to the fund and in addition he
suggested a fund be raised by popular subscription to send Alabama’s “Million
Dollar” band to the coast.
Swamped with a mass of
official business in addition to hundreds of parole applications, it could not
be immediately ascertained if the governor will attend the game although a
number of other state officials immediately made reservations.
