'Ripley's Believe It or Not! Strikingly True' appears on best-seller list

It’s Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly review of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, this past week was one of those rare weeks when all four books atop the four major best-sellers lists remained unchanged.

"11/22/63" by Stephen King remained the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Steve Jobs: A Biography" by Walter Isaacson remained the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson remained the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett retained the No. 1 spot on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

There was only one book on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week - "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" by Stieg Larsson, which appeared in the No. 11 spot on the list.

There are three books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They (along with their place on the list) include "Every Day a Friday" by Joel Osteen (8), "Heaven Is for Real" by Todd Burpo with Lynn Vincent (14) and "Ripley's Believe It or Not! Strikingly True" by Geoff Tibballs (15).

There are two books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They include "Gabriella & Alexander" by Nora Roberts (11) and "A Clash of Kings" by George R.R. Martin (14).

There was only one book on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week - "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer, which was No. 11 on the list.

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
