“Squirrel Season Comes To Close December 31: Under the new
law approved at the recent extraordinary session of the legislature, the
squirrel season closes Dec. 31, instead of Jan. 31, as formerly. According to
Mr. I.E. Adams, game warden for this district, there is considerable
misunderstanding among the people about the closing date due to the fact that
hunting licenses this year show the closing date as Jan. 31. This is wrong Mr.
Adams states, as these licenses were printed before the legislature changed the
closing date from Jan. 31 to Dec. 31.
“Hunters are therefore, warned to disregard the date shown
on their licenses and bear in mind the new closing date. Wardens and other
officers will enforce the law accordingly and it is hoped that no one will
violate the law through a misunderstanding. Take your pen, scratch out Jan.,
and put Dec.”
