That’s some window frame! If the window panels going up on
the new Monroe County Bank look heavy, it’s because they are – 20,000 pounds
apiece. The pre-stressed concrete panels were hauled in from Atlanta, where
they were produced. Hoisting and positioning them requires two cranes. The
bank, which is being constructed by Lazenby Electric Co., is fast taking shape
as the panels are stationed around the steel beam skeleton.

“over there,” took place at Eliska, Ala. The Methodist Church was tastefully

acquaintances, so the service took place in the shady grove surrounding the
church. Military honors were paid by his comrades and a salute was fired over
the grave.
Rev. Theo. Harris of Birmingham, a lifelong friend of the
family, conducted the services and paid a glowing tribute to the bravery of Mr.
Hayles in giving his life for his county and also of his life as a Christian,
testified to by all who knew him and also by his comrades who were associated
