It’s Wednesday, so today I give you my weekly list of movies that will open in theatres this week as well as a list of movies that will be released this week on DVD.I hope this will serve as a useful guide as to what’s going on this week if you happen to be near a movie theatre or if you’re looking for something to drop into your NetFlix queue.
Movies that are scheduled to hit theatres this week include:
Five Star Day (Not Rated, Drama): Directed by Danny Buday and starring Cam Gigandet, Jena Malone, Will Yun Lee, Julianna Guill and Brooklyn Sudano.
Killing Bono (R, Comedy): Directed by Nick Hamm and starring Ben Barnes, Robert Sheehan, Krysten Ritter, Pete Postlethwaite and Peter Serafinowicz.
The Last Rites of Joe May (Drama): Directed by Joe Maggio and starring Dennis Farina, Jamie Anne Allman, Ian Barford, Chelcie Ross and Meredith Droeger.
The Other F Word (Not Rated, Documentary, Music): Directed by Andrea Blaugrund Nevins and starring Flea, Tim McIlrath, Jim Lindberg, Mark Hoppus and Tony Hawk.
The Son of No One (R, Drama, Thriller, Suspense): Directed by Dito Montiel and starring Channing Tatum, Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche, Ray Liotta and Katie Holmes.
Tower Heist (PG-13, Crime and Mystery, Comedy, Action): Directed by Brett Ratner and starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick, Gabourey Sidibe and Casey Affleck.
A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (R, Comedy): Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and starring John Cho, Kal Penn, Neil Patrick Harris, Danneel Harris and Thomas Lennon.
Young Goethe in Love (Drama, Romance, Not Rated): Directed by Philipp Stolzl and starring Alexander Fehling, Miriam Stein, Moritz Bleibtreu, Volker Bruch and Burghart Klaubner.

If I could only watch one movie at the theatre this week, it would be “Tower Heist,” and if I had to pick just one DVD to rent this week, it would be “Bunraku.”
