It’s Wednesday, so today I give you my weekly list of movies that will open in theatres this week as well as a list of movies that will be released this week on DVD.
I hope this will serve as a useful guide as to what’s going on this week if you happen to be near a movie theatre or if you’re looking for something to drop into your NetFlix queue.
Movies that are scheduled to hit theatres this week include:
Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry (Documentary, R): Directed by Alison Klayman and starring Danqing Chen, Ying Gao, Changwei Gu, Tehching Hsieh and Huang Hung.
Follow Me: The Yoni Netanyahu Story (Documentary, Unrated): Directed by Jonathan Gruber and Ari Daniel Pinchot.
The Girl From the Naked Eye (Suspense, Action, R): Directed by David Ren and starring Jason Yee, Dominique Swain, Sasha Grey, Samantha Streets and Wilson Jermaine Heredia.
Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present (Documentary, Unrated): Directed by Matthew Akers.
Rock of Ages (Musical, Comedy, PG-13): Adam Shankman and starring Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap (Documentary, Music, R): Directed by Ice-T and Andy Baybutt and starring Bun B, B-Real, Afrika Bambaataa, Busy Bee and Joe Budden.
That’s My Boy (Comedy, R): Directed by Sean Anders and starring Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, James Caan and Susan Sarandon.
The Tortured (Horror, Suspense): Directed by Robert H. Lieberman and starring Jesse Metcalfe, Erika Christensen, Bill Moseley, Bill Lippincott and Fulyio Cecere.

If I could only watch one movie at the theatre this week, it would be “That’s My Boy,” and if I had to pick just one DVD to rent this week, it would be “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.”
