Grisham's 'The Racketeer' appears on two best-sellers lists this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are three new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"The Cuckoo's Calling" by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) replaced "Mistress" by James Patterson and David Ellis as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list this week.

"The Hero" by Robyn Carr replaced "The Inn at Rose Harbor" by Debbie Macomber as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

"The Racketeer" by John Grisham replaced "The Casual Vacancy" by J.K. Rowling as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

"The Liberty Amendments" by Mark R. Levin retained its spot as the No. 1 book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the third week straight.

There were four books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "How the Light Gets In" by Louise Penny (2), "Bones of the Lost" by Kathy Reichs (7), "The Whole Enchilada" by Diane Mott Davidson (8) and "Kenobi" by John Jackson Miller (12).

There were three books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "It's All Good" by Gwyneth Paltrow (12), "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young (14) and "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown (15).

There were 10 books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "The Hero" by Robyn Carr (1), "The Racketeer" by John Grisham (2), "Big Sky Wedding" by Linda Lael Miller (3), "The Forgotten" by David Baldacci (4), "Deception Cove" by Jayne Castle (8), "Temptation" by Sherryl Woods (10), "Heart of Texas, Vol. 3" by Debbie Macomber (12), "Against the Mark" by Kat Martin (13), "The Arrangement" by Mary Balogh (14) and "Falling for Mr. Dark & Dangerous" by Dina Palmer (15).

There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "The Racketeer" by John Grisham (1) and "Winter of the World" by Ken Follett (3).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
