The Alabama Sports Writers Association's statewide prep football poll for Oct. 16, 2013

The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest high school football poll yesterday and more than a few teams from Southwest Alabama received mention in the poll.

The following schools were ranked No. 1 in their respective classes: Hoover High School, Class 6A; Spanish Fort High School, Class 5A; UMS-Wright, Class 4A; Madison Academy, Class 3A; Mobile Christian, Class 2A; Pickens County High School, Class 1A; and Edgewood Academy, Alabama Independent School Association.

What follows is the complete rankings with first place votes and current records in parentheses.
