Today is Tuesday, so that means it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s New York Times lists of best-selling graphic novels. According to those lists, there is one new book at the top of the two major graphic novel lists this week.
“Maus: A Survivor’s Tale, Vol. 1” by Art Spiegelman replaced “Persepolis” by Marjane Satrapi as the top book on the Paperback Graphic Books best-sellers list this week.
“The Walking Dead, Book 9” by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard remained the No. 1 book on the Hardcover Graphic Books best-sellers list for the second straight week.
There were three books on this week’s Hardcover Graphic Books best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included “Batwoman, Vol. 3” by J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman (2), “The Unwritten: Tommy Taylor and the Ship that Sank Twice” by Mike Carey and Peter Gross (8) and “The Sandman Omnibus, Vol. 1” by Neil Gaiman and others (9).
There were four books on this week’s Paperback Graphic Books best-sellers list that wasn’t on that list last week. They included “Maus: A Survivor’s Tale, Vol. 1” by Art Spiegelman (1), “East of West, Vol. 1” by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta (6), “Boxers and Saints Boxed Set” by Gene Luen Yang (8) and “Watchmen” by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons (9).
