Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there was no change at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.
"Doctor Sleep" by Stephen King remained the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list for the second week in a row.
"Killing Jesus" by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard remained the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the second week straight.
"The Sins of the Mother" by Danielle Steel remained the No. 1 book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the second week in a row.
"The Hit" by David Baldacci remained the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the third straight week.
There were four books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Gone" by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge (2), "The Signature of All Things" by Elizabeth Gilbert (4), "Silencing Eve" by Iris Johansen (10) and "Spider Woman's Daughter" by Anne Hillerman (12).
There were nine books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "David and Goliath" by Malcolm Gladwell (2), "Break Out!" by Joel Osteen (4), "What Are You Afraid Of?" by David Jeremiah (5), "There's More to Life than This" by Theresa Caputo (7), "One Summer" by Bill Bryson (8), "Tip and the Gipper" by Chris Matthews (10), "The Reason I Jump" by Naoki Higashida (12), "The Romney Family Table" by Ann Romney (13) and "Preemptive Love" by Jeremy Courtney (15).
There were two books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Mad River" by John Sandford (2) and "Flintlock" by William W. Johnstone (6).
There were five books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "The Training" by Tara Sue Me (5), "Four Blood Moons" by John Hagee (7), "Why Grizzly Bears Should Wear Underpants" by Matthew Inman (8), "Orange Is the New Black (TV tie-in)" by Piper Kerman (11) and "The Time Keeper" by Mitch Albom (15).
