It’s Wednesday, so today I give you my weekly list of movies that will open in theatres this week as well as a list of movies that will be released this week on DVD.
I hope this will serve as a useful guide as to what’s going on this week if you happen to be near a movie theatre or if you’re looking for something to drop into your NetFlix queue.
Movies that are scheduled to hit theatres this week include:
Bachelorette (R, Comedy): Directed by Leslye Headland and starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Rebel Wilson and James Marsden.
Branded (R, Action, Science Fiction): Directed by Jamie Bradshaw and Aleksandr Dulerayn and starring Max von Sydow, Ed Stoppard, Leelee Sobieski, Jeffrey Tambor and Ingeborga Dapkunaite.
The Cold Light of Day (PG-13, Action, Suspense): Mabrouk El Mechri and starring Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Echegui and Jim Piddock.
For Ellen (Drama): Directed by So Yong Kim and starring Paul Dano, Jena Malone, Jon Heder, Shaylena Mandigo and Margarita Levieya.

If I could only watch one movie at the theatre this week, it would be “Branded,” and if I had to pick just one DVD to rent this week, it would be “Safe.”
