If you’re a fan of comedian Will Ferrell, I highly recommend that you check out a recently-released, new movie of his called “Casa de Mi Padre.”
Directed by Will Piedmont, this movie hit the theatres on March 16, and it was released on NetFlix a week or so ago. In a nutshell this movie is about Armando Alvarez, a goofy cowpoke, who must safe his father’s Mexican cattle ranch from a powerful local drug dealer. In addition to Ferrell, the cast includes Pedro Armendariz Jr., Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Adrian Martinez, Nick Offerman, Efren Ramirez and Genesis Rodrigueuz.
Be warned. While this movie is downright hilarious, it may not be for everyone, even diehard Will Ferrell fans. The movie is set in Mexico with Mexican characters, so about 95 percent of the film’s dialogue is in Spanish. I watched it with the subtitles on and laughed my butt off. Watching Ferrell speak Spanish for an hour and a half was just about the funniest thing I’ve watched in a while.

Personally, my favorite performance of Ferrell’s was his appearance on the TV show, “Man vs. Wild” with Bear Grylls. On that show, Ferrell and Grylls hilariously traveled on foot across the tundras of Sweden. Many of you will remember this show for the scenes in which Ferrell at a reindeer’s eyeball.
In the end, how many of you have seen “Casa de Mi Padre”? What did you think about it? How many of Will Ferrell’s other movies have you seen? Which would you recommend and why? Which is your favorite? Why? Let us know in the comments section below.
