New Tom Clancy novel 'Command Authority' tops best-sellers list this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are three new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Command Authority" by Tom Clancy and Mark Greaney replaced "Cross My Heart" by James Patterson as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Things That Matter" by Charles Krauthammer replaced "Killing Jesus" by Bill O'Reilly, Martin Dugard as the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen" by Kay Robertson replaced "Dark Witch" by Nora Roberts as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

"Notorious Nineteen" by Janet Evanovich remained the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the third week in a row.

There were two books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Command Authority" by Tom Clancy and Mark Greaney (1) and "The Gods of Guilt" by Michael Connelly (4).

There were two books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Humans of New York" by Brandon Stanton (10) and "The Daniel Plan: 40 Days to a Healthier Life" by Rick Warren, Daniel Amen and Mark Hyman (12).

There were three new books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list. They included "Threat Vector" by Tom Clancy (3), "Butchery of the Mountain Man" by William W. Johnstone (6) and "The Mackade Brothers" by Nora Roberts (15).

There were three books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Gabriel's Redemption" by Sylvain Reynard (10), "The Chew: What's for Dinner?" by Mario Batali, Michael Symon and Carla Hall (13) and "Against All Grain" by Danielle Walker (15).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
