Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly
breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to
those lists, there is only one new book at the top of the four major
best-sellers lists this week.
"Silencing Eve" by Iris Johansen replaced
"Big Sky Secrets" by Linda Lael Miller as the top book on the mass
market paperback best-sellers list.
"The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd remained
the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list for the third straight
week.
"Duty" by Robert M. Gates remained the top book on
the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the second week in a row.
"Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell remained the
top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the second straight
week.
There were three new books on this week’s hardcover fiction
best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books (and their
places on the list) included "Lost Lake " by Sarah Addison Allen
(9),"The Days of Anna Madrigal" by Armistead Maupin (11) and
"Under the Wide and Starry Sky" by Nancy Horan (12).
There was only one new book on this week’s hardcover
nonfiction best-sellers list that wasn’t on the list last week - "The
Pioneer Woman Cooks" by Ree Drummond, which was No. 14 on the list.
There were three new books on this week’s mass market
paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books
included "Silencing Eve" by Iris Johansen (1), "The Unwelcomed
Child" by V.C. Andrews (13) and "The Racketeer" by John Grisham
(15).
There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks
best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included
"People Tools" by Alan C. Fox (5) and "The Power of Habit"
by Charles Duhigg (14).
As a reminder, I’m posting these
lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary
recommended reading list. These lists are initially released each week on
Thursday, and if you’re interested in reading them then, visit Publishers
