“The Evergreen Aggies chalked up their tenth and eleventh wins of the season last week by soundly trouncing W.S. Neal and Sumter County by scores of 40 to 20 and 51 to 17 respectively. The Aggies will play two games at home this week, both doubleheaders. On Tuesday night, the Aggies and Greenville battle it out in what should be a very interesting game. The Greenies will play hosts to the powerful Andalusia quintet Friday night in a battle that looms to be one of the top contests of the season.
“Coach Hart’s cagers proved to be too strong for the Sumter County Wildcats last Friday night in a game witnessed by a near capacity crowd. James Carpenter and Gillis Jones led the way for the Aggies by scoring 18 and 17 points, respectively. Armstrong paced the Wildcats scoring attack with seven points to his credit.
“W.S. Neal was the tenth victim of Evergreen’s victory bitten outfit on Tuesday night. Jones was high point man for the locals with 11 points. Brantley was close behind with 10 points followed by James Carpenter and Logue with eight points each, and Ivey with three points. Coxwell led the losers attack with seven points.”

“On Thursday afternoon at one o’clock, the Conecuh County Junior High Basketball Tournament will get under way. The opening game will be between Evergreen and Castleberry.”
