Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, there are three new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.
"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn replaced "The Racketeer" by John Grisham as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.
"Shred: The Revolutionary Diet: 6 Weeks 4 Inches 2 Sizes" by Ian K. Smith replaced "Killing Kennedy" by Bill O'Reilly as the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.
"Big Sky River" by Linda Lael Miller replaced "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.
"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander remained the No. 1 book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the sixth week in a row.
There were four books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Empire and Honor" by W.E.B. Griffin and William Butterworth IV (2), "Shadow Woman: A Novel" by Linda Howard (7), "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" by J.R.R. Tolkien (14) and "Two Graves" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (15).
There were two books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Shred: The Revolutionary Diet: 6 Weeks 4 Inches 2 Sizes" by Ian K. Smith (1), "The World Until Yesterday: What Can We Learn from Traditional Societies" by Jared Diamond (6), "To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others" by Daniel H. Pink (8), "The 8-Hour Diet: Watch the Pounds Disappear Without Watching What You Eat" by David Zinczenko (9), "7 Years Younger: The Revolutionary 7-Week Anti-Aging Plan" by Editors of Good Housekeeping (10), "The Virgin Diet: Drop 7 Foods, Lose 7 Pounds, Just 7 Days" by J.J. Virgin (13) and "May Cause Miracles: A 40-Day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness" by Gabrielle Bernstein (14).

They included "Odd Interlude: A Special Odd thomas Adventure" by Dean Koontz (2), "The Columbus Affair: A Novel" by Steve Berry (7), "Wyoming Bride: A bitter Creek Novel" by Joan Johnston (10), "Sea Glass Winter: A Shelter Bay Novel" by JoAnn Ross (11), "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Choke Point" by Peter Telep (14) and "Shades of Gray: A KGI Novel" by Maya Banks (15).
There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Death Comes to Pemberley" by P.D. James (11) and "The Perfect Hope: Book Three of the Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy" by Nora Roberts (14).
