“Story Is The Same, Dodgers Are First: Chicks vs. Orioles: Friday night the Chicks and the Orioles started the ball rolling in the American League with a score of 7-5 in favor of the Chicks. Langford was on the mound for the Chicks and Huggins for the Orioles.
“Dodgers vs. Yankees: In the nightcap, the Dodgers edged the Yankees with a score of 6-5. Hart was the winning pitcher, and White pitched for the Yankees. No home runs were hit in either game Friday night, but there was a lot of close combat between both leagues.
“Chicks vs. Pelicans: The Pelicans shaved the Chicks Monday night, 8-7.
“Dodgers vs. Giants: The Dodgers nipped the Giants, 5-3, in the nightcapper. Jimmy Hart was the winning pitcher and Johnny Brown the losing. The score was tied 3-3 up to the eighth inning with the Dodgers making two runs in the bottom of the ninth.
“Pelicans vs. Orioles: The Pelicans found revenge awfully sweet over the Orioles. The Pelicans had Hicks on the mound, and Huggins for the Orioles.
“Yankees vs. Giants: The Yanks and the Giants played one of the best games of the season Tuesday night. There were very few errors made in the game. The game ended with the score of 2-0 in favor of the Giants. Harold Wright was the winning pitcher and Jack White the losing pitcher.”

“Tigers Take Lead In Senior League: The Evergreen Senior Baseball League will play Friday night instead of the regular Thursday night it has been announced by league president, Ben Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick said the change was because the Baptist Bible School will have its graduating exercises on Thursday night.
“Braves vs. Indians: The Braves opened the 1961 Senior League season with a 6-3 conquest of the Indians Monday night. Ronnie Jackson fanned seven on his way to the hill win. Stan Coker and Jimmy Weaver were the Indian moundsmen. The Braves overcame a one-run deficit when Ernest Sheffield clouted a three-run circuit blast in the fourth frame. “Greenies Defeat Uriah By 8 To 1 Score: Jim Windham made his pitching debut with the Greenies Sunday, holding Uriah to one hit and no runs for five innings. Carpenter, a left-handed hurler, relieved him at his point and gave up only one hit and one run in the remaining three innings. Rain halted the game at the end of eighth inning of play.
“Evergreen’s hitting produced eight runs. Page had a round tripper and Johnson had two doubles. Barlow and Bolton also collected two hits each.
“The locals will play Niceville here at 3 p.m. this afternoon.”

“Local Golfers Meet Monroeville Team: Continuing a friendly rivalry extending over the last several years, Evergreen’s Golf Team will meet the Monroeville team on the local course today. Sixteen local golfers headed by McGehee and Jones in the first two positions will face the Monroeville contingent led by Jones and Hotch. An interesting side light is the family rivalry of Monroeville’s Lucian Jones and his nephew, Deming Jones of the Evergreen Team.
“Play will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. when the first foursome tees off. Interest will not be confined to the first foursome as Gaston, Hagood, Smith, O.C. McGehee and other local linksmen are expected to furnish the visitors plenty of competition.

“Scoring will be on the basis of one point for each individual match and one of the best ball in each foursome. The team with the greatest aggregate of points will win.”
