'The Invention of Wings' takes top spot on best-sellers list this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are three new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd replaced "Sycamore Row" by John Grisham as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Super Shred" by Ian K. Smith replaced "Things That Matter" by Charles Krauthammer as the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"Eat It to Beat It!" by David Zinczenko replaced "12th of Never" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

"Big Sky Secrets" by Linda Lael Miller remained the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the second week in a row.

There were six new books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books (and their places on the list) included "The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd (1), "Dark Wolf" by Christine Feehan (2), "Standup Guy" by Stuart Woods (6), "Fear Nothing" by Lisa Gardner (7), "River Road" by Jayne Ann Krentz (10) and "The Pagan Lord" by Bernard Cornwell (12).

There were five new books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books included "The Pound a Day Diet" by Rocco DiSpirito (5), "The Body Book" by Cameron Diaz (6), "The Doctor's Diet" by Travis Stork (8), "Brainstorm" by Daniel J. Siegel (11) and "I Am a Church Member" by Thom S. Rainer (14).

Those books included "The Night Before" by Lisa Jackson (6), "After the Storm" by Maya Banks (7), "Montana Bride" by Joan Johnston (8) and "Preacher's Blood Hunt" by William W. Johnstone (11).

There were seven books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week.
